Reliable cleanliness in the National-Garden-Show (BUGA) City of Havelberg

Multifunctional implement carrier for efficient outdoor cleaning

Reliable cleanliness in the National-Garden-Show (BUGA) City of Havelberg

Fast support with a Citymaster 1600

When the old road sweeper owned by Havelberg’s municipal depot broke down right at the beginning of the BUGA 2015, a German National Garden Show hosted - for the first time simultaneously - by five different cities and communities from two neighbouring federal states, rapid help was called for. In his capacity as authorized Hako dealer, junior manager Mario März from the company Auto März GmbH in Barleben, who has maintained business relations with Havelberg’s municipal depot for many years, supported them by providing a Hako-Citymaster 1600 free of charge, which they could use until even after the old sweeper had been repaired. Within the framework of the European Cleaning Days campaign, the employees of Havelberg’s municipal depot had the opportunity to use and test the Hako-Citymaster for four weeks. “When the old machine broke down”, expresses Volker Kanzler, manager of Havelberg’s municipal depot, “it became clear to us that we need a new sweeper.”

In addition to the Hanseatic City of Havelsberg located in the federal state of Sachsen-Anhalt, the BUGA took place at four different venues in the federal state of Brandenburg: the City of Brandenburg on the river Havel, the Cities of Rathenow and Premnitz as well as the Municipality of Stölln, made famous the world over by Otto Lilienthal. While Stölln has scored with visitors by embellishing the ‘Fliegerpark’ with a specially created design, the four cities had their very own advantages to offer by all being scenically located on the river Havel. “The organizers of the BUGA”, outlines Volker Kanzler, “integrated the infrastructure of this year‘s hosting venues in a very smart manner that gave visitors not only the opportunity to enjoy the art of gardening as well as cultural events that took place in the BUGA areas but also to explore the surrounding countryside connecting the four cities.”

Especially during the BUGA”, emphasizes Volker Kanzler, “it was very important to us to not only keep the lanes and yards within the BUGA area clean and tidy. We wanted to create an overall clean and beautiful atmosphere in our Hanseatic City and the 14 neighbouring towns for which we are responsible. After all, it is our responsibility to clean roundabout 50 km² of footpaths, roads and squares. Now that purchasing a new sweeper is on the agenda, we will make sure to choose a supplier that provides fast and reliable expert service in the vicinity in order to be able to meet our responsibilities in a reliable manner in the future.

Hako’s comittment to provide the Hako-Citymaster 1600 free of charge for four weeks was part of the European Cleaning Days (ECD) 2015 campaign. The ECD campaign has been initiated by the European Association of the Manufacturers of Cleaning Machines, EUnited Cleaning, in cooperation with the European Cleaning Industry Federation (EFCI) and the International Association for Washing & Cleaning Agents (AISE) and their respective members to promote the image and the social acceptance of the cleaning industry and the people working in the cleaning business Europe-wide. “This objective”, stresses Volker Kanzler, “has been well received by our employees. They used the Hako-Citymaster 1600, which has been designed as a multifunctional implement carrier, for sweeping tasks. All our staff appreciated the ergonomically designed comfort cabin equipped with air conditioning, radio, comfort seat and many more practical features and they would have loved to keep the machine right there and then. The fact that the machine is easy to handle and extremely reliable during operation also made a lasting impression. These four weeks”, underlines Volker Kanzler, “gave us the opportunity to get to know and appreciate the Citymaster 1600.”
